Color-coated steel refers to pre-painted steel sheets. These sheets are steel plates with an organic coating, offering advantages such as good corrosion resistance, vibrant colors, attractive appearance, easy processing and forming, and the inherent strength of steel, while also being relatively inexpensive. However, some products use polystyrene sandwich materials, which are flammable and burn rapidly. The volatile organic compounds generated during the painting process require corresponding pollution control facilities.
Due to the availability of specialized profiles, factories constructed with color-coated steel sheets can be built quickly (e.g., the Xiaotangshan Hospital during the SARS outbreak), but their strength is low. The substrate for color-coated steel sheets can be cold-rolled, hot-dip galvanized, or electro-galvanized. Coating types include polyester, silicone-modified polyester, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and plastisol. The surface finish of color-coated steel sheets can be categorized as coated, embossed, and printed.
