Steel Structure Platform Structural Layout

The steel structure platform should meet the requirements of process production operations, ensuring sufficient clearance for passage and operation. The general clearance height should not be less than 1.8 meters, and guardrails should generally be installed around the platform, with a guardrail height of 1 meter. When the platform height exceeds 2 meters, a kickboard with a height of 100-150 mm should be installed below the guardrail. Ladders for ascending and descending should be provided on the platform, with a width not less than 600 mm.

When determining the plan dimensions, elevation, beam grid, and column grid layout of the platform structure, in addition to meeting usage requirements, the arrangement of beams and columns should also consider the location of equipment loads and other large concentrated loads on the platform, as well as the suspension of large-diameter industrial pipelines.

The layout of the platform structure should strive for economic rationality and direct and clear force transmission. The beam grid layout should be adapted to its span. When the beam span is large, its spacing should also be increased. Fully utilize the allowable span of the decking and rationally arrange the beam grid to achieve better economic results.
