The Difference Between Color Steel Sheet And PVC Sheet

Mar 06, 2026 Leave a message

The difference between color-coated steel sheets and PVC sheets lies in their material composition. Color-coated steel sheets use cold-rolled, hot-dip galvanized, or electro-galvanized substrates. Coating types include polyester, silicone-modified polyester, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and plastisol. Surface finishes include coated, embossed, and printed sheets. Color-coated steel sheets are widely used in construction, home appliances, and transportation industries. In the construction industry, they are mainly used for roofs, walls, and doors of steel structure factories, airports, warehouses, and cold storage facilities, as well as in industrial and commercial buildings. Their use is less common in residential buildings.

It differs from PVC sheets in its material composition. A magnet can attract it. Strictly speaking, PVC and color-coated steel cannot be easily distinguished in terms of metallic properties and surface treatment, as they are largely similar. Market differentiation mainly lies in the profile structure.
